POWER OF PRAYER

POWER OF PRAYER

THE POWER OF PRAYER

I recently started reading the book Fervent with a friend, and let me tell you, it lit a new fire in me about prayer. There is power in our prayers. Have you ever written down a prayer or journaled about something specific you shared between you and God, and realize days, months, weeks, or years later you see God bring it to pass?

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a book that was laying on our church table labeled free, and it was called Thirty-One Prayers for my Husband. The book felt like a stretch for me, because it called me to commit daily time in intentional and specific prayer, yet I believe now God is calling us to increase our prayer life daily and to do it with intention and to be specific. Remember, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

We do not understand why certain things happen in our lives. We don’t know our plans ahead of time. We do know that our God is for us. We do know that He sends our angels to fight for us. We do know our prayers matter. We do know that Jesus is in heaven interceding for us. We do know that the prayers of God’s people are in bowls in heaven. We know God said “don’t worry, but pray about everything.”

HERE ARE A FEW OTHER FAVORITE DAILY READS TO FILL YOUR CUP

Each day, spend time in your secret place with God. When you read his word, you are speaking Truth over your life. You are preparing for any spiritual battles that will come your way in the future. You are carving out time in your day to speak to him and listen for his small still voice. Write down your prayers. Surround yourself with the word of God. Allow him to guide you through every moment of your day.
